Finalist — 2025 Clean Consulting Case Competition

The 2025 Clean Consulting Case Competition was my first foray into consulting, let alone sustainability consulting. The student-run sustainability consulting club, Clean Consulting, hosted a case competition asking student teams to recommend sustainability solutions for sites slated to be used during the LA 2028 Olympics. Along with three of my team mates, my team assessed and recommended solutions for the Rose Bowl Stadium, from Bus-Rapid Transit Lanes to improvements to Pasadena’s local bike infrastructure. I primarily researched the BRT Lanes and bus fleet electrification.

Our team was given feedback that our plans to implement BRT lanes, a transit corridor, and a bus fleet electrification were unrealistic given the time horizon — that was my first lesson in the extensive permitting process these kinds of massive transportation projects face. In hindsight, we should’ve appreciated the smaller, more creative solutions. I learned a lot from the other teams’ innovative ideas, including the winning team’s idea to fill the Rose Bowl Stadium with water-recycling toilets. This feedback sparked my curiosity to better understand the processes that allow public infrastructure to be developed.

My team and I were honored to be one of 8 finalists out of 25 student teams.
